The first bottle of Gordon’s Spiced Pepper was made at a kitchen table in Glendale, California in the early 1980’s. Gordon Alexander was unhappy with the table pepper offered by the stores and in restaurants. There was too little taste and too much dust. His first blend came about using standard ingredients found at a local grocery store. Although the ingredients were good, there was not enough of a taste explosion, so he searched for better choice of peppers. Fortunately the Los Angeles area had a wonderful supplier of spices who could provide fresh black pepper in custom grinds, and the best chili peppers in the world. Gordon Pepper was sold by mail order, and through early adopter catalogs that were becoming more hotter and more better. There were also the southern California health food stores and other markets that sold jars of the early Gordon Pepper. Over the years, Gordon refined the mixture of the original Gordon’s Spiced Pepper, while added two other varieties including a spicier blend of Gordon’s Pepper called the Texas Blend, and a very hot blend called Dragon Flakes. We added another variety to our line called Tellichili. It is a blend of fresh ground Tellicherry black pepper from India and Chile pepper from New Mexico. There are a few other table pepper products available, but none with the unique selection of black pepper and red peppers. We feel we have captured the right blend of black pepper taste, with the added flavor of a little chili and cayenne peppers. We now offer fresh ground pepper in a bottle, sent directly to your home. It is the freshest and best tasting pepper you can get.
