Wednesday, December 19, 2007 We updated some pictures this week. Once again we learn about how hard it is to take nice photos of the products. This time we hired A.I. Multimedia of Los Angeles to capture the new products. They did a great job in bringing out the little details while still creating an exciting look to the products. We think these new pictures are better than most other spice websites and are very pleased with the results. We hope many of you will come to rely on Gordon’s Pepper Company to provide you with fresh ground pepper, the best peppercorns, and other pepper blends designed to spice your life up. Wednesday, December 5, 2007 Gordon’s Pepper Company introduces two new products this week. We now have a ultra premium blend of peppercorns called JUST Peppercorns. This blend of peppercorns mixes the best tasting pepper from the world and combines them into one superb tasting recipe. JUST Peppercorns is the result of testing many different varieties and suppliers of black peppercorns. We think we have developed the ’ultimate’ blend of the peppercorns that will satisfy the most discriminating tastes in the world. JUST Pepper is fresh ground pepper made from the JUST Peppercorns blend. If you order online, we will grind your order fresh and send it out that day. If you buy it in the store, it will be the freshest ground pepper in town. Let us do the work and grind your JUST Pepper for you and provide you with an easy to use jar of the freshest ground pepper around. Gordon’s Pepper Company is now a Texas corporation known as Gordon’s Pepper Company, LLC. Gordon’s Pepper Company, LLC will still be known as Gordon’s Pepper Company because Gordon’s Pepper Company has a shorter spelling than Gordon’s Pepper Company, LLC. Thursday, November 22, 2007 Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Enjoy your food and blessings. Sunday, November 11, 2007 Gordon’s Pepper Company recently finished a couple of product demonstrations featuring the award winning Dragon Flakes. At several Whole Foods Markets we served a base of different foods to complement the taste of the pepper, then let each person put on their choice of our four blends in the amount they felt comfortable with. Each person got to taste the pepper and several just poured it on a plate and used a piece of cheese to pick up the pepper. Once again we thank all the wonderful folks at Whole Foods Market for making the demo a success. Dragon Flakes has won its second award in three months! We were third place in the Condiments—Table Seasoning category of the Annual National Fiery Foods and Barbeque Show Scovie Awards. This years crop of Chiles has produced some extra hot pepper that will make certain Gordon’s Pepper Co. blends a bit more spicy this year. Saturday, October 27, 2007 We finished the Texas State Fair and were pleased with all the support you gave us. Sales were very fine, thank you, and our one demo was one of the most memorable ever. We brought some turkey meat and ham, combined it with a ‘drizzle‘ of olive oil, then added a small piece of cheese. We handed the customers the food and let then put on their own amount of Gordon’s pepper to their liking. The State Fair store was right nearby and lots of folks took care of the Texas Special we offered with all four blends in a single wrapped packaged for a really good price! We hope that all who attended the fair had a Texas good time Saturday, October 27 Gordon’s Pepper Co. had a tasting cart at the Lamar Whole Foods Market in Austin. We had Black Forest Ham, oven roasted and smoked Turkey, Swiss cheese, Colby-Jack cheese, and a drizzle of Colavita olive oil. That was the basis for a sampling to taste the pepper in the store. Each person got to apply their own amount of pepper on their hand made h’orderves . We gave multiple samples to discerning cooks who were coming up with recipes as they tasted each of the Gordon’s Pepper blends. Faye Bickley, the lead conductor of in store demos and her responsive team of workers were tremendous at helping GPC have a successful demonstration in the big important store on Lamar. Thank you all for a wonderful time. Our next demo will be in the Willcrest store on 11145 Westheimer Rd in Houston, TX. On Saturday November 3rd. Saturday, September 29, 2007 Gordon’s Pepper Company is now available on the shelves at the Food and Fiber Pavilion at the Texas State Fair in Fair Park, Dallas, Texas. We have Spiced Pepper, Texas Blend (of course), the award winning Dragon Flakes, and our premium blend Tellichili. We have a special sale on a Quad pack featuring all four varieties of Gordon’s pepper blends that is only available at the fair. This will be your best opportunity to stock up on pepper for those last minute Christmas presents too. We are happy to announce that we started selling the State Fair Special Quad packs during the brief time they opened the store during the Texas Department of Agriculture’s reception the night before the fair opened. We sold stuff before the State Fair opened; that’s a hoot. Please visit the Texas State Fair and enjoy the many tastes and events found only at the Fair. Saturday, September 22, 2007 Gordon’s Pepper Company won an award for Dragon Flakes at the Fiery Food Challenge at the ZestFest in Fort Worth, Texas. We are happy to have our hottest blend recognized by the distinguished panel of fiery food aficionados. Friday, August 10, 2007 We are now available in several more Whole Foods Markets including the flagship store in Austin. Gordon’s Pepper Co. has products in the BBQ section of the store. We love that! Imagine a store so progressive it has its own section just for barbeque items. These items include much more than the standard BBQ sauce selection. It is an amazing store filled with good things. If you are in Plano visit Ye Ole Butcher Shop on 15th St in the old downtown section. Have the Buffalo burger and get some steaks. And you can buy our pepper there too. Tuesday, July 31, 2007 Our popular TRIO is on sale. You get Spiced Pepper, Dragon Flakes, and Tellichili all for the low price of $10. Save $3. Watch for our ad in Fiery Foods and BBQ Magazine. http://www.fiery-foods.com/dave2/firecracker.asp Wednesday, July 18, 2007 Gordon’s Pepper Co. had the pleasure of presenting our products to shoppers in the Plano Whole Foods Market in Texas. We met many fine people who gave us valuable feedback on the products. We were also happy to sell so many cases of pepper in one store in a day. Thanks to all who helped out at our first in-store demo! Thursday, June 14, 2007 Gordon’s Pepper Co. would like to pose a question to the readers. Does ‘freshly ground black pepper’ and pepper that was previously ground taste the same after being baked or cooked? Monday, June 11, 2007 Gordon’s Pepper Co. has decided to put an advertisement in Fiery-Foods & BBQ Magazine. We do not have a big advertising department, and worked with the wonderful people at Fiery Foods to develop an ad. It is now set in motion and will appear shortly. Thanks to Mary Jane for all her delightful help. In our new ad we state there are no salts, sugars, vegetables or chemicals in our blends; just black pepper and chili pepper. Which we proudly affirm. Then we were reminded that chilies are vegetables and people may get confused. Pardon our confusion folks! It was Paris Hilton’s fault, she distracted us from the rightful path. We’ll remove the ‘no vegetables’ from future ads so as not to confuse anyone. Ah, the joys of being a small private company. Telling customers about what you believe with passion. In our next posting we will start the discussion about what happens to ‘freshly ground pepper’ after it is bakes, fried, or grilled. Then we will begin our topic with the quality of pepper mills these days. Stay tuned. Sunday, June 3, 2007 Gordon’s Pepper Co. is now officially available in north Texas Whole Foods Markets; we are on the shelves. We are pleased to start our relationship with them and hope it grows. We will announce when our first in store demonstration will take place. These are exciting small steps for the company. Once people try our pepper it is hard to go back to using their own regular table pepper. The recipe contest on Radio Paradise website was a lot of fun. Tuesday, May 1, 2007 Our pepper blends are now available in Austin Texas at Tears of Joy, the Hot Sauce Shop on 618 E 6th St. Tell Brian you want some Dragon Flakes to spice things up. Saturday, April 28, 2007 Gordon’s Pepper Co. was featured as part of the Dallas Wine and Food Festival last night at the Texas Salute event at Eddie Deans Ranch in Dallas. We met many people who sampled four different kinds of pepper blends. There were quite a few who loved the Dragon Flakes for its extra chili-head heat. Others seemed to pour on large quantities of Tellichili with the wonderful potato salad we provided. There were even a few chefs there taking samples of the Texas Blend, perhaps for their next barbeque! We sampled some nice wines and listened to some nice music during the event also. We were happy to participate in the Dallas Wine and Food Festival and hope to be there again next year. Thursday, April 19, 2007 Gordon’s Pepper is now available in select stores at Whole Foods Market in Texas. It is now easier than ever to own the best table pepper in the world. If the Whole Foods store near you does not have Gordon’s pepper today, ask the store Team Leader to order some just for you! Tuesday, April 17, 2007 We delivered the first cases of Gordon’s pepper to Whole Foods Markets in Dallas and Plano Texas. Thursday, April 12, 2007 Gordon’s Pepper Company was featured on Radio Paradise News Forum. We heard from some wonderful people from across the nation. They started a recipe contest using Gordon’s pepper and the prize will be bottles of Gordon’s pepper. A recipe contest sounds like a nice way to get the world’s best pepper for free. Friday, April 6, 2007 Gordon’s Pepper Company will be at the Texas State Fair with other GO TEXAN! Members. Please come and see us in the Pavilion Store. Friday, March 30, 2007 Gordon’s Pepper Company will soon be available at Whole Foods Markets in Texas and Louisiana. This is a great step for the company and the best opportunity for all of you to get Gordon’s Pepper at a store near you. We still offer our products on our website. Look for us on the shelves in the next few weeks. We will post a schedule of our in store appearances and demonstrations. Thursday, March 15, 2007 We are pleased to announce that all of our chili pepper will now come from the Rio Grande Valley near the town of Hatch New Mexico. The chili pepper has a sweetness to the skin that gives way to a splendid chili taste with a delicious lingering spiciness. Last years growth was not very hot, but it was still great tasting. Sunday, December 28, 2006 Have you been spicy? Ho Ho Ho. Gordon’s Pepper Company has been busy changing pictures on the site and changing a little text here and there. We purchased a new wrapping machine for production. Now isn’t that exciting! We put the bottles in a bag and say, “get small” and they shrink into little packages. Delightful. Notice we proudly tell folks that we gather pepper from around the world in order to bring the customer the best taste and quality available. You need to travel from California, to New Mexico in the USA, then to the Malabar coast in India, forward on to Hungary for paprika, and then back to USA. We make getting the spices a lot more easy. It has only been the last 100 years that people have had the convenient ability to even get these spices all at once that we blend, let alone the quality we use. You, our valued customer get the benefits. We hope you enjoy it everyday. We believe that black table pepper needs to be improved throughout the world. Start by using Gordon’s pepper once a day. Have you looked into the health benefits of black pepper and cayenne? A little bit in the body each day helps in many ways. Using Gordon’s pepper could be a subtle way to improve a person’s health. Our pepper adds to good ‘feeling-tones’ in the body. Have a Happy New Year # # # |
