Adding Spice To Your Life ™

Old News and Notices

Friday, November 24, 2006

Ok, we changed a few things.

We have new labels for the products. The UPC symbol was added, a modified logo is introduced, along with our new address. This is now our 18th year of printing labels for Gordon’s Spiced Pepper.

There are new pictures of Gordon’s pepper bottles. After spending a few hours directing the photography on a few pictures, we have a much greater respect for food photographs taken by professionals.

We are introducing our newest brand called Tellichili. It combines the best of everything we could find.
Tellichili is a mix of Tellicherry black pepper from India’s finest fields, excellent New Mexico chili peppers, Hungarian sweet Paprika, and California cayenne.

The original recipe for Gordon’s Spiced Pepper has been changed to include top quality Indian Malabar black pepper. We made the ‘regular’ blend much better and at no extra cost to you ! This is the best bargain available online—anywhere. Spice up your life.

The TRIO now includes Tellichili instead of the Texas Blend. The Texas Blend will be sold in Texas stores only for now.

Gordon’s Pepper Company now has a FAX line. Please send your correspondence to 972-620-1802

Are you being spicy?

Gordon’s Pepper Company is moving into its new facility in Dallas, Texas this week. Dallas has a C.O. rules where the new building must be inspected by three city inspectors. And just like Dickens, A Christmas Carol, they represented inspectors of Codes Past, Electrical Present, and building structure of the Future. Each inspector came at a different hour of the day, spoke in City Enforcement Language, and the departed, leaving little green slips of paper. Sadly, due to a small typographical error, the city authorized the wrong building and it took a week to straighten it out.

Soon we will begin bottling our new blends.

The CEDIA trade show was big turning point for the direction of the company. It was one of our ‘Aha’ moments.

We have changed our logo a bit, and the final results will be more golden around the edges. It goes with the new labels we are also developing.

Be Spicy. Buy our pepper and spice up your life!

Saturday, September 9, 2006

Greeting to all we meet at the CEDIA trade show. Gordon’s Pepper will be there to spice up your life.

We have received our very own UPC labels and will be placing new labels on all Gordon’s Pepper Company products.

We modified the front page and added our slogan: Add Spice To Your Life.

Gordon’s Spiced Pepper is for everyone, everyday so we addressed it to you, the everyday gourmet.

There was a debate about the spelling of chili or chile for various peppers. Our suppliers preferred the spelling as ‘chili’, and so we shall use that also. There may be times we use the spelling of ‘chile’, but that will be at the growers request.

We have new lower prices on Spiced Pepper !

Sunday, May 07, 2006

Gordon’s Pepper Company has upgraded its business so we can now provide the Spiced Pepper and the Texas Blend for lower prices, while actually improving the quality.

The journeys a person can go on in search of Piper Nigrum, the black peppercorn, are as exciting today as they were 1000 years ago. It's just that phones, Faxes and Google are much faster.

We introduce a section on our ingredients this week. It shall be expanded as we get more detailed information on our peppers.

We are soooo behind in updates for y’all. Gordon’s Pepper Company has been going through that ‘rapid growth’ period. No orders have been missed or delayed, and we have added several little touches to our operations. Tell your friends !

The thing that energizes us most these days is our involvement in a strategic business plan. It has already made us wiser about the international pepper industry among other things. It inspires us to add (soon) a section on where we get the pepper we use, and if possible, trace how it is grown.

Gordon’s Pepper Company has joined the Ring Of Fire, a chili lovers link to many websites featuring chili peppers and spices. Please see the link on our Home page and enjoy the wonderful world of chili pepper and many related links.

We recently had a visit from one of our Florida associates and quickly put her work on the assembly line learning how to package the bottles for shipping. She got first hand knowledge in how each bottle of Gordon Pepper is heat sealed for customer protection.

By now we have purchased the wonderful software called Creative Suite2 by Adobe, which includes Photoshop, Illustrator, and GoLive.

With Illustrator we have redesigned the labels and are now shipping all orders with the new labels. The logo will soon be revised, as well as other aspects of this website.

Now that Gordon Pepper has new labels, we shall be taking new photos of all the products and updating those delicious photos of mounds of Gordon Pepper.

We have begun the process of adding PayPal to the website.

   Before October 05

Just in case Oprah hears about this...

We have just put this website up on June 25th and it is still so crude.

One day we were signing up at GoDaddy.com and the next moment we had a website. Or in reality, we had a ‘parked URL’. Kind of like an internet receipt for gaining access to the world wide web.

So we set out to find a Builder of Websites. Many came forth from lands far and wide asking for little in Price to begin, and a few more dollars for ‘additional work’. We were bereft of knowledge in the area of web design, but having a large ego that attempts to do everything, we decided to do it ourselves. How hard could it be? Think of what we’ll save!

Microsoft Publisher was offered for FREE so we used it. Actually, it came with Office 2003 and we thought, what could go wrong? So we created a quick little website with a few pages and launched it into the ether web.

We actually had a product for about 16 years now and are just evolving into an internet company. Remember those mail order days before email and waiting for the new catalog to come out so orders would be revived?

Now, wise web folks tell me that I need to create pages in a more friendly HTML style. We shall get Adobe Creative Suite, learn how to make illustrations, tweak digital photos, and make small changes to the Pepper site.

The new program will also allow us to change our labels to something more machine friendly.

Well, until we find a better site-meister, you get a site designed by Gordon Pepper.

We had to learn about embedded codes, and links, and forms. All our graphics were huge files at first. Then we were corrected as to how to fix photos to a page.

So Oprah, please, bear with us. The product is greater than our website. Food Channel, hold off on that ‘Breakout News’ special until we ‘clean the counter’ so to speak.
