Wednesday, May 7th, 2008 Gordon’s Pepper Company will be at the Plano Whole Foods Market this Saturday, May 10th. Join us for a tasting of Gordon’s Pepper. We will be at the Baton Rouge Louisiana Whole Foods Market on May 24th. Please visit our first demo in that wonderful state. The company recently purchased a new pepper grinder for the factory. It is an Italian model that will grind those little peppercorns every day for years to come. And it is easily repairable. It’s Italian, it looks sexy, and your mother will appreciate it. We chose this model not because of the volume of pepper it could grind, but how it ground a large volume. We are pleased with this device. We also bought a label machine to speed up the process of putting labels on the bottles. Our engineer is still struggling with the device to make it do what he wants. Imagine Captain Kirk saying to Scotty he needs labels at Warp 8 and getting the reply ‘We are on a shuttle craft, Captain’.
Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008 Gordon’s Pepper Company will be at the Dallas Wine and Food Festival this Friday. Join us on Friday, April 25 at Eddie Deen’s Ranch in Dallas starting at 6:00 PM. We will be serving samples of our pepper to all who attend. Saturday, April 5th, 2008 We introduced to the public our new peppercorn blend called Peppercorn BLAST and our fresh ground version called CHEF GRIND at the Whole Foods Store on Coit Ave in Richardson Texas during a demo toady in the store. Josephine and her staff were wonderful as always and we had had wonderful time talking to the many folks who shopped at the store this Saturday. People keep asking for hotter blends and we will try to come up with something soon to satisfy all those requests. Our new fresh ground pepper CHEF GRIND was sold well and several people remarked how great the pepper taste and smell were compared to their usual pepper. The Richardson store defiantly liked the hotter Dragon Flakes more than any other blend. CHEF GRIND and Peppercorn BLAST are now officially in the store and ready for sale. See for your self why Gordon’s Pepper Company offers the best tasting black pepper on the market. We will be in the Whole Foods Market Plano store on April 12th for our next demo. Stop by and visit! Sunday, March 23, 2008 Gordon’s Pepper Company was featured in CHEF Magazine this month and they had Dragon Flakes as the Editor’s Choice! We are honored to receive recognition for products. Dragon Flakes continues to win awards and praise from the public and professional chefs. We recently completed a demo at the flagship store for Whole Foods Markets in Austin, Texas. Miss Faye and her crew are the best at taking care of guest vendors like us and we appreciate it. This store is one of the best food stores in the world and often has people from other grocery stores come in to admire things. Our next demo will be in the Highland Park Whole foods store, and then we will be at the Plano store. Sunday, March 9, 2008 We were happy to have a wonderful demo in the Whole Foods Gateway store this Sunday. Linda and her staff were excellent, and it is always a treat to see our friend Steve Cramer in the store. He always livens things up around the store. Hello to all the Tribal visitors in attendance. 60 VIP store visitors arrive at the end of our demo just before we run out of tasty free food. This week we made mini turkey sandwiches out of a slice of tortilla, a drizzle of olive oil, a stamp size piece of Monterey Jack cheese, and some WFM honey smoked turkey slices. The visitors got to sample the pepper by pouring on their own choice and how much they want to add. Friday, March 7, 2008 I am reminded that a chief executive corrected me when I said that pepper was the number one spice. He informed me that ‘salt’ was the most purchased spice. Later I remembered that salt was a mineral, mined from mother Earth. I hardly think of an organic product as ‘fresh mined’. On the other hand I am guilty of having many varieties of natural and flavored salts at the house which are used for all sorts of different recipes. OK, so pepper is the number one grown spice in the world. We added new pictures. Tuesday, March 3, 2008 Gordon’s Pepper Company recently donated several different kinds of our pepper blends to the North Texas Food Bank, an organization that feeds thousands of people every year in 13 Texas counties. www.ntxfoodbank.org Wednesday, February 20, 2008 Our new labels arrived so we will soon start producing the new CHEF GRIND and Peppercorn BLAST items. The first pictures are now included on this site. The company has been interviewed by the media recently and we will announce when the publications are available. Gordon’s Pepper Company will soon be available in the state of Louisiana at Whole Foods Markets in Metairie. Look for us in more LA. stores soon. This weekend (SAT) we will have a demonstration at the Kirby Whole Foods Store in Houston, Texas. We look forward to seeing you! Monday, February 11, 2008 The company recently demonstrated our products at the Whole Foods store at Gateway in Austin. We sold out of Dragon Flakes and Spiced Pepper and left one jar of Texas Blend on the shelf; a successful demo! Thanks to all the folks at Gateway, especially Victoria for her wonderful assistance in making it a great demo. We are now available in the San Antonio Whole Foods Market at the Quarry Market center. Look for us in the spice section. Tuesday, January 29, 2008 We continue to make slight changes in the website content. The new Peppercorn BLAST combination does not have white pepper like the JUST pepper mix. It is only black pepper and is on the strong side for most pepper users. The point is we narrowed down some excellent supply of ingredients for 2008 and are ready to deliver to your kitchen. JUST Pepper has been renamed CHEF GRIND to reformulated too for a more bold pepper taste. Our grinding process assures us of a superb pepper for your table. If you go to Fox Farms grocery in Joplin, Missouri, tell them you want Gordon Pepper in their store soon. We just got a paper shredder for the office. Those things can entertain a person for hours if you have enough old files to get rid of. What are your favorite BLOGS for food conversation? We would like to participate on some of these and just wondered which ones our readers recommend. info@gordonpepper.com Friday, January 25, 2008 The website was updated to reflect changes in the fresh ground pepper name. Monday, January 21, 2008 We regret to announce that the name of our latest product, JUST Pepper, is in conflict with another spice manufacturer’s similar product, and they came first. We are changing the name of our product, but not it’s ingredients. For a while there will be collector’s items until it is straightened out. Saturday, January 19, 2008 We just got back from the National Association for the Specialty Food Trade (NASFT) show in San Diego. While we were there we saw how valuable that show will be for Gordon’s Pepper Company in the future. One thing we learned is that there are very few people devoted to black pepper, the king of spice, like Gordon’s Pepper Company. If you are a retailer of pepper products then we will be seeing you in person soon. It is our intention to be know on the floor of NASFT as a dependable supplier of excellent black pepper to the food industry. We had a nice visit to the Plano Whole Foods Market last week while we showed our line of Gordon’s pepper. Some folks thought Dragon Flakes was too mild, some thought Spiced Pepper was hot. Plano folks seem to like our hotter blend and the Texas Blend. Watch this space for our next scheduled demonstration of Dragon Flakes, Tellichili, and more in various food preparations. You never know what food creations we will serve in our in-store demos because we make it up each time. The company would like to thank the GO TEXAN organization for their great support of all things Texan. Don’t forget to take advantage of our website specials on Gordon’s pepper products. Wednesday, January 3, 2008 Happy New Year to All ! Gordon’s Pepper Company will be demonstrating our products at the Whole Foods Market on Forest Lane in Dallas, Texas this Saturday. Saturday January 12, the company will be at the Plano Whole Foods Market for demonstrations of our pepper products from 11 am until 3 pm. This week we officially introduce our JUST Pepper and JUST Peppercorns line of products. |
